| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (meme) |
Show a funny image: a grandparent holding a smartphone with the caption “I’ll just tweet this letter”. Teacher says: “Look at this picture. What’s funny? Why do we call it ‘communication’? In 30 seconds, tell your partner what forms of communication you see.” After pair talk, invite 2 students to share. Then ask: “Which of these do you use every day?” Write 2–3 ideas on the board (e.g. WhatsApp, TikTok, phone call). |
– Look at the image, smile or react. – Turn to a partner (pair of 2) and discuss the humour and communication forms. – Share ideas with the class. – Answer the teacher’s question. |
Descriptors (no points): • contributes an idea in pair • names at least one form of communication • shows interest / engagement |
– Projector / slide with meme – Whiteboard / markers |
