Lesson goal
  1. Identify and use at least 8 hobby-related words and possessive pronouns (mine, yours, ours, theirs) while listening to and discussing a dialogue about Kazakh traditions.
  2. Compare two leisure activities using comparative adverbs (e.g., more often, faster, better) in pair work with 80% accuracy.
  3. Write 5–7 sentences about a favourite Kazakh hobby/leisure activity using too/enough, possessive pronouns and comparative structures; final version edited after AI feedback.

Teacher says: “In Kazakhstan we have unique hobbies — from eagle hunting to baking chak-chak. But do you think young people today prefer traditional Kazakh hobbies OR global hobbies like gaming and TikTok? Raise your hand for traditional (1), for global (2), for both (3).”

Teacher quickly counts votes, asks 2–3 students “Why?”
Debrief (1 min): “Interesting — many of you chose both. Today we’ll explore hobbies from our country and learn to describe them with precise grammar.”

Vocabulary activation: Show Wordwall set 1 (hobby pictures) via projector.
