  • Create a mini‑presentation about a Kazakh hobby using AI‑generated ideas, then verify and adapt the information independently.

Teacher says: “Listen to my short story about last weekend. Find one mistake that does NOT match the lesson topic. Ready?
‘On Sunday I visited the National Museum. There was an exhibition of traditional Kazakh crafts. I saw less people than last month – only twenty visitors. But they were very active: some played the dombra, others painted. I asked one girl: ‘Whose dombra is this?’ She answered: ‘It’s somebody’s – I don’t know.’ Then I said: ‘You play beautifully, aren’t you?’’
(deliberate mistakes: ‘less people’ – should be ‘fewer people’; tag question ‘aren’t you?’ should be ‘don’t you?’).
Ask students to spot the mistake and explain the correct form.

Teacher actions: Write the two erroneous phrases on the board. Let pairs discuss (30 sec). Elicit correction.
  • Listen to the story individually.
  • In pairs discuss which part is wrong.
  • Raise hand to share: “You said ‘less people’ but countable = fewer.” “Tag question should be ‘don’t you?’”
  • Justify why the quantifier is wrong (countable/uncountable).
 Descriptors only (no points):
• Identifies at least one mistake.
• Explains the rule (fewer + countable; tag question auxiliary).
• Shows respect when partner has different idea.
