| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Mind Map & Discussion) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Our topic is 'Train your Brain'. I want you to think for 60 seconds. What comes to your mind when you hear this phrase? Write or draw your ideas quickly." (Starts timer). After 1 minute: "Now, please share with your partner. Discuss your maps. I will ask three pairs to share one interesting association each." Possible prompts: "Why did you think of puzzles/music/sleep?" "How do these things 'train' the brain?" |
Students individually create a quick mind map with the central phrase "Train your Brain". They then discuss their maps in pairs, explaining their associations. Selected pairs share one idea with the whole class (e.g., "We thought of 'memory games' because they challenge the brain," "We wrote 'learning a language' as it creates new connections"). |
Descriptors (no points): • The student generates at least 3 relevant associations. • The student actively listens to and builds upon their partner's ideas. • The student articulates a clear connection between their association and brain training. |
