Task 1. Listening comprehension (5 points)
You will hear a conversation between two friends, Aigerim and Dmitry, about clothes and a fashion show. Listen carefully and answer the questions below. You will hear the recording twice.
Transcript for the teacher / reading aloud:
Aigerim: Hey Dmitry! Are you coming to the school fashion show next Friday? I heard they need volunteers to help backstage.
Dmitry: I’m not sure yet. I have a lot of homework. But if I finish my project by Thursday, I will definitely come. What about you?
Aigerim: I’m going to be a model! I’ll wear a vintage denim jacket and a long floral skirt. The theme is “Eco-Fashion”, so everything is made from recycled materials.
Dmitry: That sounds cool. But I heard the organisers are very strict about shoes. Is it true that you must wear only flat shoes?
Aigerim: Yes, exactly. No high heels, because the stage is slippery. Also, we have to bring our own accessories, like belts or scarves.
Dmitry: I see. And what about the audience? Are there any special rules?
Aigerim: Well, if you come as a spectator, you can wear any casual clothes, but no sportswear. And please don’t wear strong perfume – some people are allergic.
Dmitry: Got it. One more question: will there be prizes for the best outfits?
Aigerim: Yes, three winners will receive gift vouchers from a local boutique. If you want, we can design an outfit together for the competition!
Dmitry: That’s a great idea! I’ll bring my sketchbook tomorrow.
