Storytelling with a deliberate mistake: “Good morning, class! Listen to my morning story. Yesterday I woke up at 7 o’clock (show card). Then I had breakfast — I ate an apple and milk. After that I brushed my teeth and … hmm, I went to school at 8 o’clock. But wait — yesterday was Sunday! Did I really go to school? What mistake did you hear? Who can spot it?” (Teacher repeats slowly, points to pictures). Encourage choral response. “Yes! Sunday is a day off. I don’t go to school on Sunday. Great listening!” |
• Listen to the story. • Raise hand when they hear something wrong. • Say “Sunday!” or “No school on Sunday”. • Some learners repeat: Sunday, no school. |
Descriptors only (no points): - spots the mistake (Sunday / no school) - attempts to correct with a word or phrase - shows active listening (eye contact, nods) |
• Flashcards: wake up, have breakfast, brush teeth, go to school • Picture of a calendar (Sunday marked) • Whiteboard / projector |
