| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Mind map & discussion) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Our topic is inventions. For one minute, I want you to think of the word 'invention' and write down all the words, ideas, or images that come to your mind. Ready? Go!" (Times 60 seconds). "Time's up. Now, look at your map. I need three volunteers to share one association each and explain it briefly. For example, if you wrote 'phone', why did it come to mind?"
Script: "Aizhan, what's one word from your map?" (Listens). "Interesting. How about you, Daniyar?" (Listens). "And you, Madina?" (Listens). "Great. So we have ideas like 'technology', 'problem-solving', and 'future'. Today, we will not just list inventions, but compare, analyze, and rank them, thinking deeply about their role in society." |
Students create an individual mind map on a blank sheet of paper. They write "INVENTION" in the center and branch out with associated words (e.g., light bulb, internet, convenient, dangerous, patent). Three selected students share their words and give a short reason (e.g., "I wrote 'AI' because it's changing jobs."). |
