A Sunday Afternoon: Then and Now
Grandparents often say: “When we were young, life was slower.” My grandfather, Erlan, used to spend Sunday afternoons in the park. He used to play chess with his friends for hours. They didn’t use to check the weather online; they just looked at the sky.
Grandma Aigul used to bake bread every Sunday morning. She didn’t use to buy cakes in a shop. Children used to ride bicycles, climb trees and play football in the yard.
Today many teenagers prefer to spend their Sunday afternoons with smartphones. They chat with friends on social media, watch videos and play online games. They usually check weather apps before going out.
