TASKS
Task 1. Reading for Meaning (5 points)
Read the text and answer the questions.
The concept of "hygge" (pronounced hoo-ga) is a cornerstone of Danish culture, yet it lacks a direct translation in English. It encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. It's not just about physical comfort like candles and warm socks; it's a mindful practice of creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying good company. For Danes, hygge is a shield against the long, dark winters. It's the art of building sanctuary and connection, turning an ordinary evening into something special. Similarly, in Japan, there is a tradition called "Shinrin-yoku" or forest bathing. It is the practice of immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the forest for relaxation. While seemingly different, both traditions share a common goal: to combat modern stress by intentionally cultivating peace and presence in the moment.
