Текст для чтения: "The Boy King and The Great Discovery"
Tutankhamun was a pharaoh of ancient Egypt. He became king when he was only about nine years old. His reign lasted for approximately ten years, from around 1332 BC to 1323 BC. He died mysteriously at the age of 18 or 19. For centuries, his tomb was lost.
In 1922, a British archaeologist named Howard Carter made one of the most famous discoveries in history. After years of searching in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, Carter found the steps leading to Tutankhamun's tomb. The tomb was nearly intact and contained over 5,000 incredible objects, including a magnificent golden death mask, jewelry, chariots, and statues. This discovery gave the world an unprecedented look into the life, wealth, and burial practices of an Egyptian pharaoh.
The cause of King Tut's young death remains a mystery. Scientists have studied his mummy and suggested possible causes like an infected leg injury, malaria, or genetic disorders.
