Read the text below and answer the questions that follow.
Sport does not only shape our bodies; it also shapes our character. I feel strongly that team sports, especially at school, teach valuable life skills — cooperation, responsibility and resilience. When young people learn to pass the ball, they also learn to share success and to support each other after failure. Rather than simply competing to win, they learn how to communicate and plan together. For these reasons, schools should encourage participation in team sports and provide equal opportunities for boys and girls. I am convinced that the long-term benefits — physical fitness, confidence and social skills — greatly outweigh the temporary discomfort of training.
