My Festivals Blog
Hi everyone! I'm Alex, and I love travelling to experience different cultures. Last year was amazing because I visited three unique festivals.
1. The Lantern Festival in Taiwan happens on the first full moon of the lunar year. The main event is releasing thousands of beautiful paper lanterns into the night sky. People write wishes on them. It's a truly magical and hopeful sight. The streets are also full of tasty street food like tangyuan, sweet rice balls.
2. Songkran in Thailand is the traditional New Year celebration in April. But it's famous for the world's biggest water fight! For three days, people splash water on each other using buckets, water guns, and even elephants! It's a fun way to cool off and wash away bad luck from the past year.
3. La Tomatina in Spain is just one crazy hour in August. In the town of Buñol, thousands of people throw overripe tomatoes at each other. Everything and everyone turns red! It's messy but incredibly fun. After the fight, the streets are cleaned with fire hoses.
Each festival has its own special atmosphere. I can't wait for my next adventure!
