Reading text
People watch many different kinds of programmes and films. Some like news programmes because they want to know what is happening in their country and the world. Others prefer drama series or films because they enjoy stories about interesting characters and exciting events. Documentaries are good for people who love learning about nature, history or science. Many children watch cartoons: cartoons are usually short, colourful and funny, and they often teach simple lessons about friendship and kindness.
There are also different places to watch films and programmes. Families often watch TV shows at home in the evening. Teenagers sometimes go to the cinema to watch a new film with friends. People choose programmes by mood: when they are tired, they may choose a light cartoon or a comedy; when they want to think, they may choose a documentary or a serious film.
