Instructions for the Student
Hello! This worksheet will help you learn and practice the Passive Voice in Present Simple and Past Simple tenses. Read the short explanation carefully. Then complete all 5 tasks. Write your answers in the spaces provided. Good luck!
Short Explanation:
We use the passive voice when the focus is on the action, not on who or what is performing the action (the agent).
- Present Simple Passive: am / is / are + Past Participle (V3)
Example: The car is washed every week. - Past Simple Passive: was / were + Past Participle (V3)
Example: The window was broken yesterday.
Remember: The Past Participle (V3) of regular verbs ends in -ed (e.g., cleaned, played). Irregular verbs have special forms (e.g., written, built, eaten).
