Text: Aliya's Holiday
My name is Aliya. Last summer, I had a wonderful holiday with my family. We did not go abroad. We travelled inside Kazakhstan. First, we visited the city of Turkistan. It is a historical place in the south. We saw the beautiful Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. It is very old and big. I learned that it is a UNESCO site.
After Turkistan, we went to the Altyn Emel National Park. The park is famous for its singing sand dune. The sand makes a sound like music when the wind blows! We also saw wild horses. The landscape was amazing with mountains and steppe.
During our trip, we ate traditional Kazakh food. For lunch, we often had beshbarmak with meat and noodles. My favourite drink was shubat. It is made from camel's milk. It is good for health.
In the evenings, we listened to stories from my grandfather. He told us about Kazakh traditions and nomads. I felt proud of my country's nature and history. It was the best holiday.
